Melbourne, Australia, 22 April 2024: Avecho Biotechnology Limited (ASX: AVE) (“Avecho” or the
“Company”), focused on developing and commercialising innovative products using its proprietary Tocopheryl
Phosphate Mixture (“TPM®”) drug delivery system, is pleased to invite its shareholders, investors and
interested parties to a Sleep Health Symposium titled ‘Unmet Needs of Insomnia’, run by Monash University
and the Australian Sleep Health Foundation.
The Symposium will take place on Tuesday the 23 rd of April 2024 at Monash University and streamed live via
Eventbrite. World-leading experts will discuss sleep health in a national and global context, within key focus
areas of insomnia, mental health and the clinical unmet need. This symposium will provide a forum to explore
new treatment approaches for insomnia, including medicines targeting novel pharmacological mechanisms
and psychological therapies.
Key speakers include Professor Ruth Benca MD PhD, Chair, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health
at Wake Forest School of Medicine; and Professor Robert Adams MBBS MD FRACP FRCP FAASM, a respiratory
and sleep physician based at Flinders Medical Centre and Medical Director of Adelaide Institute for Sleep
Health (“AISH”).
A report by Deloitte Access Economics1, commissioned by the Sleep Health Foundation, cites that almost
1,000 Australian deaths were attributed to sleep disorders in 2019-20, due to increased risk of cardiovascular
and metabolic conditions, mental health conditions and reduced mental health. While current medical
guidelines recommend cognitive behavioural therapy (“CBTi”) as the first line treatment for insomnia, a
shortage of trained clinicians reveals a need for safe, alternative treatment approaches to support better
sleep health in adults.
Professor Shantha Rajaratnam, Chair of the Sleep Health Foundation and Professor of Sleep
and Circadian Medicine at Monash University, said: “Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder and
has a significant impact on peoples’ lives. People with insomnia find it hard to fall asleep or stay asleep, or
wake up too early. The resulting fatigue from insomnia can drain a person’s energy level and vastly affect
their mood, general health, work performance and quality of life. It is vitally important that we are uniting
the most skilled professionals in this space to pioneer new treatments. We are delighted to be working in

partnership with Avecho to host this industry event with esteemed colleagues from around the world –
particularly as the Company is on the cusp of a major regulatory milestone for its CBD-based treatment for
insomnia.”
Avecho CEO, Dr Paul Gavin, said: “Avecho is excited to be collaborating with Monash, the Sleep Health
Foundation and global pioneers in sleep health to support an open and constructive conversation about the
progress of treatments for insomnia. We are focused on bringing a CBD-based treatment to market for
patients seeking a better night’s sleep – and this discussion will help to examine the role of this new
treatment, and alignment with other established therapies. This is an exciting time for our Company.”
Avecho is now recruiting 519 patients for the largest sleep study of its kind, globally. Across treatment sites
in Melbourne, Sydney, Central Coast, Brisbane and Perth, participants will compare nightly CBD doses of 75
and 150mg CBD with placebo over a 16-week dosing period. Avecho is focused on testing the efficacy
of its enhanced CBD formulation to become the first Australian company to sell a CBD treatment
for insomnia as an over the counter (“OTC”) medicine.

People interested in participating in the Avecho Phase III Clinical Trial are invited to visit the clinical trial
